Intrapersonal capacities for sustainability: a change agent perspective on the ‘inner dimension’ of sustainability work

Abstract An ongoing discussion in education for sustainable development (ESD) research has focused on defining a list of agreed upon sustainability competencies required the work change agents. This included consideration an ‘Intrapersonal’ perspective that considers role inner qualities agents and how this impacts their ability to implement sustainability. While many researchers have looked at ‘inner dimension’ work, identification function competence remains question. Utilizing practitioner responses, paper identifies eight Intrapersonal capacities described as beneficial implementation These are to: Hold complexity, Foster learner’s mindset, Deeply value others, Let be, Show up one’s full self, Regulate manage Persist with lightness Ensure wellbeing. The study provides insights into relationship wider field. It also discusses implications should it consider incorporating such teaching learning. much literature field is conceptual nature, offers empirical contribution by including voice discussion.
